Does the Program Really Work?

Statistics based on DPYK training conferences indicate the program is indeed successful:

  • 97 percent of parents believed that the program empowered them to educate their children about the harmful use of drugs
  • 75 percent "strongly agreed" that parents had an important role influencing their child's understanding of drugs and alcohol.
  • Parents' competence and confidence to address child substance misuse was much higher on completion of the program
  • Parental confidence and/or competence was increased
  • Of the total number of children in the families of parents who attended the program, 64 percent were below the age of 12
